Green Gas International announces that it has commissioned a clean energy combined heat and power plant converting coal mine methane from the Paskov mine, (Ostrava region, Czech Republic) into electricity. The combined heat and power plant installed and operated by Green Gas DPB has a capacity of 1 560 kWel and is the twenty first clean energy plant commissioned by Green Gas in the Czech Republic.
The project has significant environmental benefits whereby it converts methane, that would otherwise escape into the atmosphere, into electricity and has the potential to reduce emissions by some 50 000 tonnes of CO2 equivalent per annum.
Chris Norval, CEO of Green Gas International comments: "We congratulate the Green Gas DPB team for another successful implementation, adding to our growing clean energy portfolio worldwide.""
